Polish Delegation — Chess & Bridge
Lucja Ciborowska (Chess) · Magdalena Kapala (Bridge)
Q: So what do you think of the activities organized for the events? Including the glow night run, the intangible cultural heritage exhibition, and the visit to the Ancient Water City?
A1: So, I really enjoyed today’s visit in the water city, the activities were fun, and the night run was also really fun, the Liaocheng is very beautiful, so we’re like glad that we can also participate in some other events than playing Bridge only, and that’s it I think.
A2: I can’t participate in the run but honestly, I’m kind of regretful now because it looks really cool and seeing all those people there I was really sad that I didn’t participate.
Q: Thank you so the last question is what’s your overall impression around Liaocheng the city?
A1: My impression is very good actually. I think the city is very safe and clean and very beautiful, and it’s not as noisy and there is not a lot of people as I was previously in China, there were a lot of people everywhere. And here is like more quiet so very good impression of Liaocheng and I will definitely be happy if I get to uh come here once again in the future.
A2: I’ve never been in China before, so I didn’t really know what to expect. But my first impression is pretty good and I’m really glad that I get to be there and play in Liaocheng.
Head of Czechia Delegation
Milan Macura
Q: Which country do you represent?
A: I’m from the Czech Republic from Europe. And I’m the head of the delegation of both the Bridge and the Chess team.
Q: So how many members in your delegation?
A: We have one Bridge team, four members and four chess players, two female and two male.
Q: What are your impressions of this championship?
A: Well so far the organization was excellent. The hotel is beautiful and the playing area is top notch. I really like the small things that you guys do here with all the colors and everything. And yesterday performance in the evening of the culture groups. We’re just fabulous. So we enjoyed a lot.
Q: So one more question. Would you come back to Liaocheng if you get the opportunity?
A: It’s pretty hard. Because it’s a very long way. But we enjoyed the tour within the city. We like the history and everything around. So if there will be a chance, I would love to come. But not easy.
Q: Yeah so the last one is after yesterday’s and today’s competitions. How do you feel about your performance?
A: This is a tough one. Because yesterday we had a very bad start. I hope that it was kind of the jet lag and maybe the first stress from the competition. But today we won our first match big. So hopefully if we keep going, we might still have a chance to fight for the medals within the Bridge event. And our chess players are winning most of their matches. So they’re on the good track to be at the tops, but still a very long way to go till the end.
